Product Details Paperback: 80 pages Publisher: Moon Temple Press (May 2006) Language: English ISBN: 0977999491 Product Dimensions: 8.5 x 5.5 x 0.2 inches Editorial Reviews Book Description Was Jesus married? According to the Gnostic Gospel Of Saint Bartholomew he was. Not only was Mary Magdalene his wife, but she was also a co-messiah with him. This fascinating and illuminating Gospel also informs us of who the "apostle John" actually was. Did Jesus really die on the Cross? Did Jesus really worship the god Yahweh? Was he circumcised? Was he really a poor carpenters son or was he a Jewish aristocrat? Was Judas the Siccari ("Iscariot") really a traitor? Or was he doing exactly as Jesus had arranged for him to do? Which of the other Apostles is actually the father of Judas? Was the apostle Peter the "Rock" upon which the Christian Church was founded, or was Peter a traitor and the first "antichrist"? Discover the answers to these questions and more in the pages of THE GNOSTIC GOSPEL OF SAINT BARTHOLOMEW: Another time Jesus was in a cave near the fortress of Herodium, a citadel built by King Herod. The Master had traveled there alone, and had initiated the Chosen of the synagogue in that place. The Lord was praying and contemplating the Kingdom of Heaven when a brigand found him and threatened him with a sword. The Master introduced himself to the brigand, and the brigand was startled and confused by the serene and authoritative manner of the Master. "I am Jesus. Tell me your name." "I am Keros," he replied. "If you desire money, you shall ask politely." Jesus commanded Keros. "Master, would you please give me money?" Then Jesus reached beneath his tunic and brought forth a small moneybag and handed it to Keros. Before the brigand could hurry away, Jesus said, "You shall thank those who freely offer an oblation." "Thank you Master," said Keros, who then departed in haste. The next day Roman soldiers escorted Jesus to the citadel. The Master was informed that Keros had felt great remorse for robbing Jesus and had confessed his crime to the Romans. When the Romans questioned the Master about the incident. Jesus said, "Keros did not rob me. We introduced ourselves, then he politely asked me for money, and when I gave it to him he thanked me." Upon hearing this, the Romans released Keros into the custody of Jesus and bid them depart, and Keros became a follower. Another of the Zealots came to Mary of Magdala?an Archon of the tribe of Levi, a daughter of Aaron--and asked her to accept him as a disciple. Mary relented, for the Zealot had become sickened by his killing of Romans and was seeking the Kingdom. "You must pray every day for three hours to Know the Kingdom," Mary instructed the Zealot, a man named Jaazaniah. He complied and prayed thusly for one month. He lamented, "I have not yet come to Know the Kingdom of Heaven." Mary commanded, "Pray and seek for yet another month," and Jaazaniah obeyed. This continued for six months as Jaazaniah the Zealot traveled with the disciples. Finally, the Zealot gave up and told Mary, "It is no use. I cannot find the Kingdom of Heaven." "Try for one more month, and if by then you have not found the Kingdom, you will take your own life with the edge of your sword," Mary told him solemnly. Inside of one month the Zealot had found the Kingdom of Heaven, and rejoiced with Mary, Jesus, and the apostles. To the temple priests Mary said, "You are like unto a fool who mistook a map for the terrain, who mistook words for hearing, who mistook forms for sight. You mistake your temple for the Most High God." "You have traveled a long distance to see me," Jesus told the brigand. "I do not want to disappoint you." So Jesus arose, removed his garments, and freely gave them to the brigand. Puzzled, the brigand nonetheless snatched away the garments and ran off into the darkness. Then Mary his wife found Jesus naked in the moonlight and said to him, "Rabboni, you are naked again." Jesus said, "The treasures of this kosmos which people crave, even the possessions which they garrison, will be stolen or forsaken at death. I gave that man my garments for I cannot give him the Kingdom. You are great above all women Mary for you abandoned neither my mission nor me when I changed direction. When the harvest arrived, your sickle was already in hand. Beloved Mary, without you my work would come to nothing, for it is Sophia who goes before me preparing the Way." From the Publisher In May of 2005, Moon Temple Press received The Gnostic Gospel of Bartholomew. It was almost immediately accepted for publication and purchased. The Greek original of this Gospel has been in the possession of the European Cathar/Gnostic organization for at least 900 fully documented years. Orthography and other non-destructive tests have determined this Gospel, written in Koine Greek in the form of a leather-and-vellum codex, comes from the first few centuries of the Christian Era. The Gnostic Gospel Of Saint Bartholomew opens a much needed window onto early Christianity. Available thru Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com... |

As a long time Gnostic (over 30 years) and ongoing student of "extracanonical" scripture, I am most interested in obtaining a copy of this Gospel. Unfortunately, at present, Amazon.com has no more available copies. I have tried in vain to Google this book from other sources, but none were found.
Do you have any ideas as to how I might get a copy - new or used? If you or anyone else has information pertaining to my request, please post a reply to this message. Thank you. In Splendour, +Bp. Bruce |
