Introduction
Hello! My name is Scott (A|A for short!). Despite my generally rational world view, I've long been fascinated with myths & the history of religious ideas. I invite you to join the GSSA as we explore the human quest for gnosis.
How did you first learn about Gnosticism and what drew you to it?

Elaine Pagel's "Gnostic Gospels" and other writings on the subject. The art of William Blake and writings science fiction writer Phillip K. Dick made me aware of the more contemporary forms of these ideas.

What religious tradition or belief system do you follow, if any? Do you consider yourself a Gnostic?

Orthodox Heretic. :-) Practices Skepticism/Pantheism/Deism/Gnosticism w/ an appreciation for the wisdom, symbolism & metaphor of ancient myth. Too encumbered by my Judeo-Christian heritage to consider myself a neo-pagan.

Are you primarily interested in learning more about historic Gnosticism, contemporary beliefs and practices, or both?

The persistent legacy of a gnostic philosophy throughout Western religious thought, most often as a heretical or countervailing undercurrent to the established order, interests me most.

Would you be willing to lead a discussion in a topic related to Gnosticism or the Western Esoteric Tradition?

I am not an expert, by any means, in Gnosticism or the Western Esoteric Tradition, so I'm hoping others will volunteer to lead the group in topics they are knowledgeable or passionate about.

What are your other interests and hobbies?

My interests include architecture, historic preservation, sustainable development, sacred geometry, archeo-astronomy, world travel, hiking, and art (especially photography and sculpture).

  •  AA has been examplary in his management and leadership of the Gnostic group. He is always well prepared and knowlegeable of the subjects he presents. The group has grown at a steady rate and is it forming a core group. He is an outstanding facilitator who is not reluctant to add related topics and has made the group very enjoyable. He is very affable and makes everyone welcome.
